2003/07/17 ( 3:22 PM ) cxjo smog if, for some reason, you have a car that's not running biodiesel or straight vegetable oil, be sure to take it to a "test-only" smog check station when it needs its bi-annual smog check. i think the way it works is, they aren't allowed to work on your car, so they don't have any motivation to cause your car to fail. they do cost a little more sometimes, tho.. but if your car is more than 5 years old it's a good bet a non-"test-only" station will cause your car to fail so they can collect $85 "diagnosis" and then a couple hundred bucks for an O2 sensor and catalytic converter you don't need. #
